How much packaging is relevant? ♻️
HELFE Office
Here you can see standard packaging for cosmetics. 📦✨ In addition to an outer box, the actual product usually comes with a folded leaflet, a perforated film to prevent breakage, a resealable lid and a security seal that can be broken once. We think that's a lot of packaging for so little product. The fact that four of these six packaging elements end up in the trash before they are even used for the first time is particularly worrying. When recycling, the different materials of these packaging components must be taken into account - hard plastic, aluminum foil, coated cardboard, paper, plastic film. Can you really expect anyone to know about recycling? ♻️ Of course, a lot of information is mandatory from the manufacturer (so it takes up space) and some components are for quality assurance. But - how much packaging is too much packaging? Is it necessary for a cosmetic product to have a packaging to content ratio of 6:1? What do you think?
